I've fallen in love with a country.

School trip to Belgium to see battlefields, memorials, trenches, graveyards... for World War One. Three days of going around in our coach, visiting sites with the most awesome tour guide in the world - a colonel - and... I fell in love.

In the last graveyard cemetery placey thing - the biggest in the world or something for soldiers in WW1 I think - we were told all these stories of how guys had leapt on grenades to save comrades, or rescued mates and died in the process, going against the strongest of human instincts, survival, for their mates... and I didn't even realise I was crying. Everyone was so solemn and emotional, even after hours of previous cemeteries and bus journeys which were hours of just stuffing our faces with sugar.

It was amazing... I need to find the name, hehe... Some of the sites were in France, but mainly in Belgium, and everywhere we drove in Belgium, there were more and more cemeteries - everywhere. So many. Unmarked graves, privates, and some as young as fourteen... all the Victoria crosses...

I need to stop typing, hehe. I love my camera phone. I took so many pics, mostly of mates but a few of the graves and monuments - I'll upload a few, though they're scenes that you could find in so many different places... but flicking back through them just makes me remember it all and wish I was back there
